Glazing
It’s that time of the year! The leaves start changing and the temps are falling. We’re starting to think of fall clothes, pumpkin spice everything, and our favorite fall activities. We even need to have hair that’s ready for fall! Our sun-kissed locks have had a busy summer and they need a little attention. A good trim and conditioning treatment is a great place to start. One step further would be to try a “Glazing”.
A “Glazing ” is a semi-permanent color that adds lots of shine and a little or alot of color. It’s the perfect way to tone down hair that has gotten a little too light on the ends or color that has faded from the sun. It conditions the hair and adds lot of shine.
The glazing that we like to use is from Chi. It’s our no ammonia color line. We can mix hundreds of shades to get the best color for you. The color is mixed with a low volume of developer and the Chi Interlocking Conditioning Treatment. It’s like a heavy duty conditioning treatment with some color added. We apply the color to your shampooed hair and you sit under a nice warm dryer for 20 minutes. Just relax and know that your hair will feel drenched with nourishment and be super shiny.
The Glazing lasts about 6-8 weeks and gradually fades away as your hair grows out. That way you don’t have a line of new growth that needs to be redone. If your hair is very porous and dry the color may last even longer. This may happen on the very ends of your hair where hair can be the driest. It’s best to use shampoo for color treated hair and sulfate-free is the best.
Try adding red, gold, a little plum to your lightened ends and have a whole new color!
